Enhance Steel uses powder-coated square steel balusters and comes in Charcoal Black only — it's the most budget-friendly option with a 15-year warranty. Enhance Composite uses composite rails with round aluminum balusters, comes in 4 colors, has a 25-year warranty, and offers ADA compliance and cocktail rail compatibility.
Is Trex Enhance Railing good quality despite being the most affordable?
Absolutely. Enhance Railing delivers genuine Trex quality — no painting, no splintering, no rotting. Both the steel and composite options are engineered to meet residential building codes, and the composite line carries the same 25-year warranty as higher Trex tiers.
Can I add a cocktail rail to Enhance Railing?
Yes — but only with the Enhance Composite line. The composite railing system supports a cocktail rail top for a wider, flat surface perfect for entertaining. The steel railing does not support cocktail rails.
Is Enhance Railing ADA compliant?
The Enhance Composite railing is ADA compliant when installed at the proper height. The Enhance Steel railing is not ADA compliant. If accessibility is a requirement for your project, go with the composite option.
What post options work with Enhance Railing?
Both lines support multiple post configurations. Steel works with Enhance Steel Posts, 4×4 Composite Post Sleeves, All-in-One Kits, and 6×6 sleeves (white only). Composite supports All-in-One Kits in all 4 colors, 4×4 Post Sleeves, and 6×6 sleeves (white only).
